Andrew Clark, M.D., PhD
Dr. Clark is a board-certified ophthalmologist and fellowship-trained vitreoretinal specialist. A native of the Santa Clarita Valley, he attended Pepperdine University on an academic merit scholarship where he graduated summa cum laude and was named the most outstanding graduate of the natural science division. He then joined the combined USC-Caltech MD PhD program where he earned his medical degree and doctorate in chemistry. At Caltech, he worked with internationally-renowned scientists to develop nanoparticle technology for targeted drug delivery.
He completed his ophthalmology residency at the Los Angeles County-USC Medical Center, one of the top ophthalmology training programs in the country. Dr. Clark then received his fellowship training with Retina-Vitreous Associates/Roski Eye Institute of USC, where he was a Society of Heed Fellow, an award given to the top ophthalmic fellows in the country.
Dr. Clark has published numerous research articles in top scientific journals including the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, Ophthalmic Surgery, Lasers and Imaging and Retina Case Reports and has presented his research at conferences at the local and national level.
Dr. Clarkâs clinical interests include diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, retinal vascular disease, retinal detachment repair, ocular trauma and complex intraocular lens surgery.
Outside of work, Dr. Clark enjoys spending time with his family, cooking and traveling the world to take photos.
